A dog's wellbeing is not measured only by survival. Protection, companionship, stimulation, and freedom from fear are also essential parts of humane care.

THE STORY THAT STARTED IT ALL
IT ALL STARTED WITH LUNA.
Six years ago, on Christmas Eve, Trinidad Arreola responded to a report about a nine-year-old blue pit bull named Luna.

LUNA HAD BEEN BURIED ALIVE.
​
What Trinidad witnessed was something she could never forget. A case of cruelty so horrific that it sparked public outrage, a march, formal complaints, and a year-and-a-half-long fight to seek justice for Luna. But Luna’s story did not end there.

LUNA CHANGED HER LIFE FOREVER.
​
Trinidad could have felt outraged, reported what happened, and simply moved on with her life.
But she chose not to.
Luna’s case opened her eyes to a reality she could no longer ignore: animals who should have been safe, cared for, and loved were suffering in the very places where they were supposed to be protected.
There were so many cases. Too many.
But Luna’s case was something that, for Trinidad, was simply beyond words.

Luna became an angel to Trinidad—and a symbol of all the animals waiting for someone to see them, hear them, and help them, even those suffering behind the walls of a backyard.
From that day forward, Trinidad committed herself to protecting animals who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
Luna was the beginning.
And her memory continues to fuel every rescue, every report, and every fight for those who still have no voice.
